Nile University hosted the Third National Biosafety Conference on September 14, 2017. The event, themed “Biosafety, Paving the Way for Safe and Sustainable Environmental Management, Agricultural Development and Economic Recovery,” brought together stakeholders who discussed the way forward with regard to the Nigerian Biosafety System.
During the conference, several distinguished presenters gave lectures on topics ranging from the impact of emerging biotechnologies on economic growth to socio-economic consideration in biosafety management. A panel discussion, comprised of the distinguished presenters, was also held giving more insight into the Biosafety issue.
Overall, the event was educative, thought-provoking, and motivational, and highlighted the progress the country has made on the Biosafety front, as well as areas that can be further improved upon.
