Nile University signed a MoU with Huawei Technologies Company (Nigeria) Limited on April 9, 2019, as part of both organizations’ efforts to bridge the gap between town and gown. Among the most prominent features of the MoU is the train the trainer (TTT) program offered by Huawei, whereby the company will provide select staff of Nile University’s faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences structured Huawei career certification training; these instructors will, in turn, impart this knowledge on students. This program promises many benefits for our institution. For starters, it will ensure that our students get the necessary training to participate at the annual Huawei ICT competition which comprises a national preliminary contest (in Nigeria), a regional semi-final (in South Africa), and a global final (in China). In addition to the invaluable experience and exposure the participation at this competition will provide our students, it will also provide a unique opportunity for Nile University to get additional publicity. Furthermore, through the TTT program, the University’s Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences hopes to introduce its students to new and unique programs that will set them apart from their counterparts in other schools. Those present at the signing of the MoU were the Vice-Chancellor of Nile University,Director of Regional Marketing, Huawei Nigeria (Mrs. Melissa), Program Coordinator, Huawei Nigeria(Mr. Sam), Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (Prof. Moussa Mahammad Boukar), HOD, Computer Science(Prof. Nnanna Agwu ), and DVC, RICOR and Director of CELL(Prof. Dr. Nurettin Can).
