The Civil Engineering Department at Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) headquarters, Abuja, Nigeria.

The team was led by the Prof Yadullah Babayev (Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Nile University of Nigeria), other staff present where, Engr. Dr. Abdulhameed Mambo (The Head of Department, Civil Engineering), Engr. Dr. Onyebuchi Mogbo, (Deputy Head of Department and Senior Lecturer), and Engr. Abubakar Dayyabu. (Head of Civil Engineering Laboratory)

The NBRRI team was led by Professor Samson Duna, (Acting Director General) and all Heads of various departments of NBRRI headquarters, Abuja.

The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) is responsible for researching and developing road and building materials for the Nigerian Construction Industry. The institute is under the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology of Nigeria.

Upon arrival at the facility, Prof. Duna warmly welcomed the Nile team and stressed the NBRRI’s desire to partner with the educational institution to achieve a sustainable solution to the problems facing the construction industry in Nigeria today while fostering a sustainable future for the industry. Prof. Duna concluded his speech by formally inviting the University for the upcoming International Conference at NBRRI billed to hold later this year.

Following Prof. Duna’s address was a special visit to the Laboratory section of the facility as well as other plants and equipment in the Research Institute to ascertain where both Institutions can complement each other in terms of Research, Development, and Improvement of Standard Practice and Constructability with a Sustainable Initiative for the future.
