Nile University held an orientation lecture for the newly admitted students on October 7. The event was designed to acquaint the new students with the University’s rules and regulations as well as the numerous resources available to them on campus. Delivering the program’s opening address was the Vice-Chancellor, who congratulated the students on their admission into Nile University. He assured the students of Nile University’s commitment to equipping them with the skills necessary to succeed in the contemporary globalized society through high quality education, while urging them to take maximum advantage of the University’s facilities and social activities to develop themselves into well-rounded individuals capable of making significant positive contributions to the society.

Echoing the VC’s sentiments, Prof. Abdurrahman Isik (Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics), stated that entry into Nile is a defining chapter in the lives of the students. According to him, what they do during their four or five years in the University will determine their future. Thus, he called on the students to make wise use of this time to “develop new skills, make lifelong friends, and enhance their personal attributes in ways that will prepare them for life after university.”

Following the DVC’s address were presentations from representatives from the University’s various academic and administration departments (e.g. Accounting, Academic Division, Engineering, Library, etc.), familiarizing the students with the roles of these departments.

The orientation concluded with a registration session during which the students joined the university’s various student clubs.
