The College of Health Sciences organized a field trip to the Kuchingoro (Abuja) Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDP) camp for the 200 Level Medical students (of the MBBS program), on April 30, 2018. The visit was part of a Community Medicine project designed to provide students with practical experience in a real-life situation while serving as a means for the University to give back to society.
During the visit, students:
Provided nutritional education to the IDP camp residents (children and their mothers).
Took Anthropometric measurements of the children.
Donated relief materials to camp residents.
Created general health awareness among camp residents.
Overall, it was an exciting and educative experience for the participating students.
