The College of Health Sciences organized a field trip to the Kuchingoro (Abuja) Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDP) camp for the 200 Level Medical students (of the MBBS program), on April 30, 2018. The visit was part of a Community Medicine project designed to provide students with practical experience in a real-life situation while serving as a means for the University to give back to society.

During the visit, students:

  • Provided nutritional education to the IDP camp residents (children and their mothers).
  • Took Anthropometric measurements of the children.
  • Donated relief materials to camp residents.
  • Created general health awareness among camp residents.

Overall, it was an exciting and educative experience for the participating students.
