The first edition of the Nile University Games was held on the 3rd of
December, 2016. 3 Universities were invited to participate in the
maiden edition of the competition designed to promote Unity and
Cooperation amongst Universities.
At the Nile University Games, there was no shortage of passion and
enthusiasm amongst the participants.
African University of Science and Technology topped the medals table.
They went home with 3 Gold medals (Basketball, Table Tennis Singles
and Doubles) and 1 Bronze medal (Football).
The host University came in at 2nd place with 3 silver medals
(Football, Basketball and Table Tennis doubles) and 1 bronze medal
(Table Tennis singles).
Veritas University went home with 1 Gold medal (Football), 1 silver
medal (Table Tennis Singles) and 2 Bronze medals (Table Tennis doubles
and Basketball).
Baze University were unable to honour their invitation.
Following the success of the 1st edition, the University plans on
expanding this competition to entertain a larger number of
participants yearly to play a wider variety of games.
