The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) held the first of its three editions of the FutureHack event at Nile University of Nigeria from July 1-2, 2019. FutureHack is a national software hackathon that brings Nigeria’s youth together to provide solutions to drive the country’s digital and economic development. The program is organized in collaboration with academic institutions, one of which is Nile University; our institution’s faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (headed by Prof. Dr. Moussa Mahamat Boukar) has a very strong relationship with NITDA. This year’s event featured 19 teams from across Abuja, who competed in three categories: eHealth, eAgriculture, and eEducation. The Nile University team, competing in the eHealth category, emerged first runner-up in what was a fantastic advertisement for the university.
