Biography

Dr. Petrus Nzerem is Senior Lecturer and Head of Department in Petroleum and Gas Engineering.

He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Polymer and Textile Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, in 2004. Petrus then proceeded for a Master’s degree in Energy and Environment at the University of Leeds upon completing his National Youth Service Programme. In 2013, he obtained a Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science from the University of Manchester before returning to Nigeria to take up a lectureship position at the Nile University of Nigeria.

Petrus’ research interests include sustainable and renewable energy, waste to energy and chemicals conversion, petroleum economics, drilling fluids.

He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and Nigeria Society of Engineers, and also a registered COREN Engineer.
