Biography

Prof. Dr. Osman KOROGLU is a Professor and Head of Department in the Mass Communication Department.

He is a seasoned journalist with 10 years of technology and science journalism experience in print, internet, and broadcast media. He worked in international media companies as a freelancer, translator, ghostwriter, reporter, editor, and web consultant/advisor, between 1999-2008.

He also has 13 years of teaching and research experience in higher education institutions. Main courses he taught in BA, MA and PhD levels since 2008: Journalism (101 to Multimedia), Advertising (101 to Digital), Public Relations (101 to International), Communication and Media Sociology, Social Media and Communication Networks, New Media and Publishing/Broadcasting, Presentation Techniques, Business Communication, Political Communication.

As the member of Academic Quality Assurance Committee of Nile University of Nigeria, he is responsible of overseeing the process of quality assurance efforts for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

His research and education interests include the “relationship, effect, and interaction of new and emerging communication technologies and media (new media / digital media) with the individual and society”. His expertise covers the applied communication and emerging media fields.
